About Wikaraoke

Wikaraoke is a map-based lyric visualizer for multilingual Philippine music. Explore multilingual music, watch synchronized lyrics and visualizations, and discover expressions across the archipelago.

The Philippines is home to over 120 languages, from Tagalog and Cebuano to Ilokano, Hiligaynon, Kapampangan, and more. Despite having so many regional languages, music cuts across barriers. A good melody, a powerful voice, or even just the emotions expressed in the musicality can connect people across language divides.

The name Wikaraoke combines “wika”, the Tagalog word for “language”, with “karaoke”, a very popular pastime in the Philippines. I know, karaoke is from Japan, but I can’t come up with a better name.

If you have song suggestions or language corrections, please let me know!
